Commenting: An Overly Explained Guide Part 2

Hello!  In this post, we are going to continue learning how to comment.

1. Once you have selected the post that you would like to comment on, ensure that the blog has a section for commenting (most blogs do, but a few may not).  If the blog does not, repeat steps 4 and 5 until you find a blog.

2. Then, hover until you find the box that reads Comment (or something like that).  Click this.

3. Once you have done this successfully, begin your comment.  The best way to begin one’s comment is with a greeting and the person’s name (eg. Hi Amanda).  Then click enter once on your keyboard so you are on the next line.

4. Now, you begin the body of your commentIf this is your first time commenting to the person, you should introduce yourself (My name is Margaret).  Then, talk about their postType what you liked about it, and what you think they should change.  It is important not to critique the person too much, otherwise they may feel offended (instead, write 1/2 compliments and 1/2 suggestions).  This should take between 1-4 sentences.

5.  The next part may be one of the more important parts of the comment.  In this section, you should compare interests to the person and ask them questions about their life/hobbies/etc.  This part of the comment is vital to continuing a conversation with the person.  Next, leave your blog URL so that the person can visit your blog and comment.  Then, write something like bye, hope to write to you soon,-, etc. before signing your name (-Margaret or Bye, Margaret).

6. Once these steps have been completed, you should read over your comment and edit it.  Make sure that there are no gramatical or spelling errors.  Once you are sure that your comment is good and sendable, move your cursor until it is hovering above the “Publish” button.  Click this.  Your comment will either appear immediately or you will see a message saying that you will see your comment once it is approved.

7. Once this happens, leave the site.

8. Then, check back every few days to see if they have responded.  You should also check your blog to see if they comment there.

9. Wait until they respond.  Then recomment.
